Prepare the big bags for transport
Once you have booked the transport and received the documents from us, it is time to prepare for the transport.
Please note that big bags must always be transported on a pallet. This will facilitate loading and unloading of the truck and the space on the loading area can be used much better.
In addition, each big bag for transport must be tightly closed at the top.
Collection of the big bags for transportation
In order to transport your big bags, our transport employees usually take over the goods at the curb.
For this purpose, please place the big bags on a pallet.
Delivery of the big bags

Premium delivery
With premium delivery, the fastest possible delivery date is selected by default. Alternatively, a later delivery date can be selected during the offer configuration.
Premium delivery for pan-European shipments
If you want a fixed delivery date for a pan-European shipment, it is the last day of the specified regular transit time for the premium delivery option.
Premium delivery for groupage freight
If you request a fixed delivery date, we will store your shipments for up to 3 business days free of charge. These are counted from the last business day of the earliest possible term. For each additional business day, we will charge 5€ per pallet space and business day.
Shipping method Direct Loads
With the shipping method "Direct Load" you will receive the fastest possible transport. The transport vehicle makes its way to your delivery location on a direct route.
How much will it cost to have big bags transported?
The price of transporting big bags depends on both the place of collection and the destination, as well as the number of bags, their total weight and the shipping method.

How do I optimally prepare big bags for transport?
To ensure that your big bags and the contents can be transported properly, you should consider the following aspects:
- Please use certified big bags for transport, which you have stored protected from light. UV radiation can make the material porous and cracked. Also, do not reuse big bags that are designed for one-time use only.
- Please place the big bags on a pallet, so that they can be loaded, transported and unloaded more easily. In certain cases, it is also necessary to ground the big bags before you fill them.
- Please do not fill the big bags with liquids, as the bags are not designed for this purpose and not waterproof.
- Note the maximum filling weight, which is indicated on the outside when filling the big bags.
- Load the big bags evenly.
- Close the big bags after filling tightly from the top.
- For the transport of the big bags to the curb use either a forklift or a big bag transport cart.

What are big bags used for?
Since big bags are made of durable plastic fabrics, they are very suitable for carrying a variety of materials, such as gravel, sand, stone, bulk material, seeds, granules, pellets, dust, flour, salt, or even large products.
Due to the material and its volume, you can fill big bags with 500 kg to 2,000 kg. The respective maximum filling weight is written on the outside of the big bag.
How many big bags fit in one truck?
The number of big bags you can transport with a truck depends on the volume and filling load of the bags and the size of the truck.
In a box truck, for example, it is possible to transport 44 big bags, each with a volume of 1.4 m³, because you can stack them on top of each other in the truck.
Big bags with a larger volume should not be stacked on top of each other.
Are the big bags insured when Cargoboard transports them?
It depends on the transport option chosen whether the big bags are insured. Most shipping companies offer appropriate insurance. If you transport big bags with Cargoboard, the liability according to the German Freight Forwarders' Standard Terms and Conditions (ADSP) applies in case of loss.
Despite a small risk of loss , we recommend our shipping insurance for cost-intensive goods.
