The booking through our platform
In order to place your shipment on our platform you have to enter your shipment data in the first step and select the shipping method that suits you best.
At this point, it is important that you make the right choice when selecting the packaging material and deposit your dimensions including the packaging. If your shipment is heavier than 30 kg, it must be transported on a pallet.
Prepare the engine hood for transport
After you have booked your shipment and received the shipping documents, it's time to start packaging.
From a total weight of 30 kg the machine must be transported on a pallet or accessible from underneath. You can find out how to proceed with our tips below.
The collection of the engine hood
For the shipment of the machine, our freight forwarders usually collect the goods from the curb.
It is mandatory for collection that consignments from a weight of 30 kg are either accessible from underneath or placed on a pallet for transport.
The delivery of the engine hood
Like the pickup, the delivery of the engine hood is free curbside. For this purpose, our forwarders unload the shipment at the delivery address and obtain the signature for acceptance.

Premium delivery
With the Premium delivery, the fastest possible delivery date is selected by default. Alternatively, a later delivery date can be selected during offer configuration.
Premium delivery for Europe-wide shipments
If you want a fixed delivery date for a Europe-wide shipment, it is the last day of the specified regular transit time for the premium delivery option.
Premium delivery for groupage freight
If you request a fixed delivery date, we will store your shipments for up to 3 business days free of charge. These are counted from the last business day of the earliest possible term. For each additional business day, we will charge 5€ per pallet storage space and business day.
Shipping method Direct Loads
The Direct Load is our fastest transport product, as the booked vehicle makes its way to the delivery location with your engine immediately and without transshipment.
Shipping engine hoods: The cost
When you ship an engine hood with Cargoboard, the cost is highly dependent on several factors. For example:
- the respective pick-up and delivery locations
- the selected shipping method
- the total weight or length and size

What is the best way to prepare and pack the engine hood for shipment?
Since engine hoods are sensitive goods for transportation, you should pay attention to a few points when shipping:
- Cleaning: Make sure that the hood is thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, dust and lubricants. This not only helps keep the hood in good condition, but also prevents dirt particles from damaging the surface during transport.
- Protective covers: Use suitable protective covers to protect delicate surfaces or ornaments on the hood when shipping. These can be, for example, special foam or plastic covers that are applied to the relevant areas of the hood.
- Padding: Wrap the hood in several layers of protective material, such as bubble wrap or foam. Be sure to add extra padding to sensitive areas such as corners or edges to minimize any impact damage.
- Cardboard box: The engine hood should now be stably packed with a cardboard box and thus made ready for transport with the delivery note.
Insure engine hood for transport
Note that there is no standard insurance when shipping. In case of damage or loss, only the liability according to the German Freight Forwarders' Standard Terms and Conditions (ADSP) applies.
Therefore, if you are shipping expensive products such as a hood, we recommend our shipping insurance. You can simply add these during the booking process.
