How does shipping work with Cargoboard?

For the shipment of tires, rims and complete wheels our forwarding agents usually take over your goods from the curb. For this takeover, it is imperative that shipments weighing 30 kg or more are either self-supporting or placed on a pallet for shipping.

Like the pickup, the delivery of tires, rims and complete wheels is free curbside. For this purpose, our forwarding agents unload the shipment at the delivery address at the roadside and obtain the signature for acceptance.

Delivery option desired date
If you choose general cargo shipping, you can select the desired delivery date in addition to the standard and express delivery options. With this delivery option you have the possibility to send your general cargo shipment at a later desired date. What does that mean in concrete terms?
- Collection of the general cargo shipment on the next working day or on the desired day
- Prioritized delivery on the desired date
- Free storage of goods for a maximum of four working days (then 5€ per pallet space and per working day)
- Minimum terms as for the Standard delivery option
Type of transport express direct
If you choose Express Direct, you can look forward to our fastest transportation product. With this product, the booked vehicle travels to the destination on the direct route and without transshipment points.
Prices when shipping tires, rims and complete wheels
The price of shipping tires, rims and complete wheels is highly dependent on the factors of pickup location, destination, selected transport product, as well as the unit weight.

Packaging tips for shipping tires, rims and complete wheels
If you have chosen a tramp carrier in the form of a pallet (unit weight higher than 30 kg) or a carton (unit weight lower than 30 kg), you still have to pack the tires, rims or complete wheels properly afterwards.
Packing tips for a shipment in a box
- Line the bottom of the box with bubble wrap or other cushioning material
- Place tire, rim or complete wheel in the box
- Place bubble wrap or other cushioning material above the goods so that the carton is filled and the goods can no longer move
- Seal the box with adhesive tape
Packing tips for shipping on a pallet
- Place the first tire, rim or complete wheel in the center of the pallet with the visible side facing upwards
- Then stack the remaining tires, rims or complete wheels. It is important that between each product is always placed a thick cardboard
- On the top element again bubble wrap and place a cardboard
- Finally, fix stacked tires, rims or complete wheels with tension straps or strapping
Packing recommendation for rim shipment
Rims should always be packed in a cardboard box, even with a higher number of pieces, so that they are sufficiently protected from scratches. For padding inside the boxes are suitable Styrofoam, foam or packaging chips.
For packing and protection we recommend the following packing materials:

- bubble wrap
- Adhesive tape
- Tension belts
- Handling advice for careful handling of the goods
Insure tires, rims and complete wheels for transport
It is important to know that there is no standard insurance when shipping, but in case of damage or loss there is only liability according to the German Freight Forwarders' Standard Terms and Conditions (ADSP).
Therefore, we recommend you to cover yourself with transport insurance through Cargoboard for expensive products. You can easily and uncomplicatedly add these during the booking process.
