How does the transport with Cargoboard work?
With Cargoboard, machines can be transported easily and, above all, quickly. This section provides detailed information on the specific procedure.
The order booking through our platform
In order to place your transport on our platform, you have to enter your shipment data in the first step and then select the type of transport that suits you best.
At this point, it is important that you make the right choice when selecting the packaging material and specify your dimensions including the packaging.
If your machine is heavier than 30 kg, it must be transported on a pallet or be able to be moved under by itself.
Prepare the machine for transport
After you have booked your transport and received the shipping documents, you can start preparing for the transport.
From a total weight of 30 kg, the machine must be transported on a pallet or be able to be moved under by itself. You can find out how to do this in our tips at the bottom of this page.
The collection of the machine
For the transport of the machine, our forwarding agents usually take it from the curb.
For this takeover, it is imperative that shipments weighing 30 kg or more are either self-supporting or placed on a pallet for transport.
The delivery of the machine
Like the pickup, the delivery of the machine is free curbside. For this purpose, our forwarding agents unload the shipment at the delivery address and obtain the signature for acceptance.
Delivery times for the transport of machines
In the table below you will find our delivery times for the transport of your machine within Germany.
For European shipments, you can view our delivery times after entering the pickup and destination on our platform.
Please note that delivery times may vary due to seasonal fluctuations and regional restrictions. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our service team.
Standard delivery option | Express delivery option | |

Delivery option desired date
When shipping general cargo, in addition to the delivery options standard and express, you can also select the desired date. With this delivery option you have the possibility to transport your general cargo shipment at a later desired date. What does that mean in concrete terms?
- Collection on the next working day or on the desired day
- Prioritized delivery on the desired date
- Free storage of goods for a maximum of 4 working days (then 5€ per pallet space and per working day)
- Minimum terms as for the Standard delivery option
Type of transport direct
If you choose direct shipping, you can look forward to our fastest transportation product. With this product, the booked vehicle travels to the destination on the direct route and without transshipment points.
Price for machine transport with Cargoboard
When you transport a machine with Cargoboard, the price is highly dependent on the particular pick-up and destination, as well as on the selected mode of transport and the total weight.
You can see your individual price in real time on our platform after entering the shipment data.
As a customer, do I have to prepare my machine for transport?
Sufficient preparation is important for smooth machine transport. As a customer, you can already take the following actions:
- Secure the machine for transport in such a way that it cannot be damaged during transport and cannot cause defects to other goods.
- Remove all loose parts and pack them properly.
- Secure hoses and lines so they do not break off or move freely in the cargo compartment.
- Provide the machine transport forwarding company with the necessary dimensions of the machine and its weight specification in good time.
Cargoboard is always at your disposal to advise you on the necessary steps. In addition, if you have any questions about shipping costs or packaging safe for transport, we will be happy to answer them.
Technical documentation - What information on transporting a machine can I find in the operating instructions?
For efficient machine relocation, precise information is required in the operating instructions for you and the freight forwarder who is to carry out the machine transport.
You should therefore find the following information in the technical documentation or, as a machine manufacturer, provide it there for your customers:
- Weight and dimensions of the machine: Weight and dimensions are essential data for safe machine transport. Because these also provide the basis for being able to decide on the type of transport. If the machine exceeds a certain weight, for example, special heavy transport is required for safety reasons.
- Requirements for transport equipment: In addition, you should find clear requirements regarding transport equipment in the operating instructions. This includes, for example, instructions on the use of straps, support devices, heavy-duty pulleys and other equipment.
- Disassembly and reassembly instructions: The transport of machines often requires the disassembly of various machine parts. Be sure to follow instructions for disassembling and reassembling the machine from the operating manual to avoid damage.
- Recommended transport methods: Depending on the type of machine and transport, appropriate transport methods are often recommended in the operating instructions. Please pay attention to them before you plan the machine transport with a forwarding company.
Insurance of the machine during transport
Insurance terms and conditions of carriers and insurance companies can vary widely. In some cases, standard insurance applies to the transportation of goods and otherwise additional insurance is required.
Cargoboard's transport insurance guarantees you effective and far-reaching protection for your goods:
- If you take out our transport insurance, Cargoboard will reimburse you for the full value of the goods in the event of damage or loss.
