Freight forwarding England - transit times, prices and particularities

Many of our new customers have experienced that shipping to England turns out to be a challenge. Cargoboard does its best to make shipping to England, Scotland and Wales as uncomplicated as possible for you. We will take care of pre-customs clearance and we can also work with your own customs agent if you wish.

For shipments to England, a commercial invoice and export documents are always required. Cargoboard will gladly provide you with a sample commercial invoice after booking and will take care of the export declaration.

For customs clearance to work smoothly, you need an EORI number. The EORI number can be applied for at customs and is required for the dutiable shipment of goods.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer you shipments to England, which contain dangerous goods or are to be delivered directly to private customers.

If you want to ship your goods to Ireland, we can put your mind at rest. In this case customs clearance of the goods is not necessary. Such a shipment is treated in the same way as a shipment within the European Union.

Premium delivery

With premium delivery, the fastest possible delivery date is selected by default. Alternatively, a later delivery date can be selected during the offer configuration.

Premium delivery for pan-European shipments
If you want a fixed delivery date for a pan-European shipment, it is the last day of the specified regular transit time for the premium delivery option.

Premium delivery for groupage freight
If you request a fixed delivery date, we will store your shipments for up to 3 business days free of charge. These are counted from the last business day of the earliest possible term. For each additional business day, we will charge 5€ per pallet space and business day.

Since 2000, there has been a steady decline in the industry as major companies have relocated the company and production base to other countries. Only the export of goods plays a more important role in the countries' overall economy.

The traffic infrastructure of England

The road network of England has a length of about 388,000 km, of which about 3,500 km are freeways. Compared to the rest of Europe, the country does not have many toll roads, but there are a few bridges where you have to pay in order to cross.

There is also an environmental zone in the London area, for which trucks and vans require prior registration. Nowadays, the British peninsula can be reached quite easily through the Eurotunnel.
