The dispatcher - definition and responsibilities

A dispatcher is a commercial employee. They are mainly active in the fields of logistics and transport. Duties include the deployment and coordination of personnel and vehicles needed for transportation. 

They decide, for example, whether a transport is to be carried out by truck, rail or sea freight. They also check returns and invoices and ensure that goods are delivered on time. The goods should be delivered as quickly as possible and by the shortest route.
