      What is a delivery notification?

Delivery notification, or notification for short, is the advance notice of collection or delivery in the forwarding dispatch. This means that the forwarding agent makes an appointment with the sender or recipient. This can be done electronically by SMS or e-mail, but also manually by phone.

This allows the recipient of the advice to be prepared for the time of collection or delivery. The normal pickup or delivery notification usually occurs one day after the shipment is picked up.

The recipients do not have to speculate when the carrier will arrive. This is because the forwarder and the consignee agree on a delivery date together. For pickup or delivery to private customers, we recommend booking a notification. Because if no one is found on site, the client incurs costs for a futile journey or a new delivery.

The driver’s notification is another form of notification and represents the unilateral announcement of the delivery. It usually takes place 30 to 60 minutes before delivery.
